Olympiacos rejects Dubai’s offer for Thomas Walkup, expects guard back for preseason

The Greek champions reportedly turned down Dubai’s only offer for Thomas Walkup, insisting the American-born Greek international will report for preseason as scheduled.

Olympiacos has firmly dismissed speculation surrounding Thomas Walkup’s future, rejecting the only transfer proposal received from Dubai BC.

According to information released by the Greek club, Dubai submitted an offer worth $600,000, structured in two installments of $300,000. Olympiacos immediately rejected the proposal without entering negotiations, considering the bid insufficient.

The club also made it clear that it fully expects Walkup to report for preseason training and remain part of the squad for the upcoming campaign.

The statement comes amid growing speculation linking the experienced guard with a move away from Piraeus, but Olympiacos has reiterated that there is currently no agreement in place and no intention to part ways with one of the team’s key backcourt players.

Walkup has been a vital piece of the Reds’ success in recent seasons thanks to his leadership, defensive intensity, and playmaking, making him one of the cornerstones of the team’s rotation.

For the time being, Olympiacos’ position is unequivocal: the Dubai proposal has been rejected, and Walkup is expected to begin preparations for the new season with the Greek champions.
