Mario Hezonja Agrees to Join Cleveland Cavaliers, Set for NBA Return!

The Croatian forward is leaving Real Madrid after reaching an agreement with the Cleveland Cavaliers, marking his return to the NBA after six years.

Mario Hezonja is on the verge of making his return to the NBA after reportedly reaching an agreement with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Croatian forward is expected to leave Real Madrid and begin a new chapter in Cleveland following a successful spell in European basketball.

The move was strongly hinted at by Hezonja’s agent, Misko Raznatovic, who posted a cryptic message on X.

“The Republic of Dubrovnik and its people have always been known for their trading spirit. Centuries have passed, times have changed, and now that spirit has somehow taken on a knightly… Cavalier character,” Raznatovic wrote, seemingly confirming the destination of his client.

Hezonja attracted significant interest from multiple NBA franchises, including the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, it appears Cleveland won the race for the 31-year-old forward, securing his commitment ahead of the new season.

The Croatian was selected with the fifth overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft and spent five seasons in the league between 2015 and 2020. During that time, he played for the Orlando Magic, New York Knicks, and Portland Trail Blazers before returning to Europe.

After six years away from the NBA, Hezonja is now preparing for a highly anticipated comeback, with the Cleveland Cavaliers set to become the next stop in his basketball career.
