Maccabi Tel Aviv has officially completed the signing of veteran German center Daniel Theis, securing his services on a two-year contract ahead of the 2026-27 season.
The 34-year-old was initially expected to join ASVEL Villeurbanne, but the French club’s financial difficulties prevented the transfer from being finalized. Maccabi moved quickly to capitalize on the situation and successfully added one of Europe’s most experienced big men to its roster.
Theis spent last season with AS Monaco, where he averaged 9.7 points and 5.0 rebounds across 41 EuroLeague appearances, playing a key role in the team’s frontcourt.
