Tenerife signs former Olympiacos center Ethan Happ

The experienced American big man will continue his career in Spain, joining Tenerife after an impressive season with Burgos in the Liga Endesa.

Tenerife has officially announced the signing of former Olympiacos center Ethan Happ, adding an experienced frontcourt presence to its roster ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The Spanish club is entering a new era after making significant changes this summer. Following the departure of long-time head coach Txus Vidorreta after eight years, Tenerife has also ended its decade-long participation in the Basketball Champions League and will compete in the EuroCup next season.

Happ, who spent the 2025/26 campaign with Burgos, will now enter his fifth consecutive season in Spain’s Liga Endesa. The 30-year-old American center enjoyed an excellent season, averaging 12.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.9 steals, and a 17.3 performance index rating per game. His PIR ranked as the sixth-highest in the Spanish league.

The move marks another important addition for Tenerife as the club looks to remain competitive domestically while preparing for its return to European competition in the EuroCup.

Happ is no stranger to Greek basketball, having previously spent the 2019/20 season with Olympiacos, before establishing himself as one of the most reliable big men in the Spanish league.
