Olympiacos are currently dealing with two open cases, involving Thomas Walkup and Tyler Dorsey, each following a different path.
Walkup appears closer than ever to ending his spell with the Piraeus club. The American guard has not changed his stance and remains determined to leave. His main motivation is financial, with Dubai offering him three times the salary he earns at Olympiacos. For their part, the Reds do not seem willing to keep a player who wants to depart.
The financial details with Dubai have not yet been finalized. Further offers are expected, while Olympiacos may also ask for a player in return in an effort to find a middle ground. The club previously rejected two offers that fell well short of the €3 million they were seeking to release the player.
The situation is more complicated with Dorsey. According to a Newsbeast report, the lack of any move toward a contract extension carries risks. The American guard is under contract until 2027, but Panathinaikos’ interest is genuine, with the Greens holding him in high regard. If Olympiacos delay their next steps, surprises cannot be ruled out.
Behind the scenes, both cases will also shape Giannoulis Larentzakis’ future. The Greek guard is seeking a potential move in order to secure more playing time. Aris had shown strong interest, with several reports describing a move to Thessaloniki as virtually complete, although more recent reports suggested the deal had been put on hold. However, a potential Walkup departure would make Larentzakis more valuable to Olympiacos, making his release more difficult.
